2000 Bc: The Bruce Conner Story Part II
Published in Hardcover by Walker Art Center (January, 2000)
Authors: Bruce Conner, Peter Boswell, Bruce Jenkins, and Joan Rothfuss
Average review score:

A Review: One man show and tell
This beautiful publication makes you feel fortunate to live in an era when hardbound books filled with juicy pictures printed on quality paper stock are still here for the wonder of our minds and hands. For some reason the multifaceted brilliant artist Bruce Conner is not very well known outside rarefied circles of experimental film-o-philes or assemblage art fans, and this book should go a long way to correct such an egregious oversight. The essays are substantive, intelligent, and lure readers into discoveries about the works of this compelling character, and the design of the book is a joy, filled with many cinematic touches and liberally sprinkled with gorgeous color reproductions. Highly recommended.

The Abandonment of Delinquent Behavior : Promoting the Turnaround
Published in Hardcover by Praeger Publishers (December, 1988)
Authors: Richard L. Jenkins and Waln K. Brown
Average review score:

Excellent general text for those interested in youth crime
This text provides a great range of literature on issues surrounding youth justice, policy, resettlement and intervention. Students, practitioners and academics alike would all benefit from these chapters as would anyone with a general interest in this area, who would not find the book too 'dry' since the style of writing is excellent - clear, insightful and moving.
The book draws on personal accounts of young people's involvement in crime, their attitudes towards intervention efforts and reflections on why and how the abandonment of delinquent behaviour takes place. Concluding chapters are reflective and devoted to recommendations for policy and interventions based on the personal accounts presented earlier in the book. Each chapter is referenced well and the book benefits from a total of 22 contributors to the book, who all bring with them their own expertise to the area.

A Low Country History of South Carolina
A great review of South Carolina Low Country history through the trials and tribulations of some of its founding families. A great find for historians of the Low Country. All kinds of primary source documents and personal information of South Carolina residents over a three hundred year time span. Plantation owners, battles, sea captains, soldiers, generals, rebels, loyalists, colonists, farmers, doctors, disease, family squabbles, slaves, cities and towns are brought to life through the words of people who were actually there. Geography, climate, agriculture, economy, politics, it's all here. A gold mine for geneologists. Histories traced back to the kings and queens of England. Well indexed and referenced. A gem!

The Adventure of the Detected Detective: Sherlock Holmes in James Joyce's Finnegans Wake (Contributions to the Study of World Literature)
Published in Hardcover by Greenwood Press (June, 1998)
Author: William D. Jenkins
Average review score:

Brilliant analysis of Joyce's use of Holmes in FW
I was a friend of the late author's and therefore recuse myself from any sort of critical review, but am anxious to let others know of its availability. It is a model of Joycean analysis, in my opinion, written in an elegant, spare style and with great good humor. He has made a significant discovery that should excite and illumine both Sherlockians (Bill was a member of the BSI and prodigious contributor to the Baker Street Journal) and Wakers.

I loved it
This has to be one of my all time favourite books. I picked it up at the library once and have borrowed it several times since. The heroine is spunky and the hero is gorgeous! I really enjoyed the storyline - of a young English girl making her own way through Victorian London using her own wit and intelligence. I found this a very sexy and humourous book!

Dazzling and instructive
This book is for the serious jewelry student but even the casual reader could be caught by the amazingly beautiful jewelry in it. The collection consists of Etruscan, Greek and Roman gold jewelry reaching back to the 7th century B.C. and ending around the 3rd century A.D. The text is informative and succinct. The photos are superb. In particular, the technical virtuosity and design elegance of the ancient Etruscans are breathtaking.
